OASDI benefits are monthly payments from the federal Social Security program. This program provides financial support for retired workers and other groups of people. These includes individuals with disabilities who have a history of an income. This part of the benefit is also known as Social Security Disability Insurance or SSDI. Individuals with disabilities may also receive Social Security Income disability benefits or SSI. SSI is a separate program that is available for individuals with disabilities who have no or very limited income.
