Population Density
High population density is linked to higher rates of violent crime. Being in crowded areas can make some people feel unsafe. This feeling can be bad for their health, even if there’s no actual violence. Also, if people are scared of violence, they might not go out to exercise, which is important for staying healthy. To stop violence caused by many people living close together, policymakers can do things like putting in quality streetlights, taking care of parks, and improving other parts of neighborhoods. Additionally, urban planners can try to design streets, sidewalks, parks, and other areas so people can move around easily without getting too crowded.
