This layer displays cancer screening and risk factor information from the State Cancer Profiles data – a collaboration between the Center For Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and National Cancer Institute (NCI). County level model-based estimates are calculated by combining responses from the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) and the National Health Interview Survey (NHIS), and uses the U. S. Census Small Area Estimates (SAE) methodology to estimate data for non-response areas. Low (-95%) and High (+95%) confidence intervals are also included in the popup. The width of a confidence interval depends on the amount of variability in the data. Narrow confidence intervals tend to imply greater certainty in the estimate, while wide confidence intervals tend to imply more variability in the data and could mean there is less certainty.
